Dubai Summer Surprises 2025 launches six exciting indoor mall runs
Families, fitness fans and beginners all welcome to join
DUBAI: Get ready to sprint, jog, or stroll through some of Dubai’s most iconic shopping destinations this summer as Dubai Summer Surprises (DSS) 2025 unveils a thrilling new series of indoor mall runs.
With six unique events spread across popular malls, the initiative combines fitness, fun, music, and prizes – all in air-conditioned comfort.
Organised by Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), the indoor runs are designed to bring together communities of all fitness levels. Whether you're a beginner aiming for your first kilometre or an experienced runner pushing for a new personal best, these inclusive events have a route for everyone.
Kickoff at Dubai Hills
The first of six events will be held on 28 June at Dubai Hills Mall, presented as the exclusive DSS Indoor Run powered by Skechers. Runners can select from 1 km, 2.5 km, 5 km or 10 km routes that wind through the mall’s luxurious interior. With upbeat music and hydration stations along the way, the event promises a vibrant, family-friendly atmosphere. Every finisher receives a medal and certificate, while the top three winners in each category will be awarded trophies and vouchers.
Mid-Summer highlights
On 6 July, City Centre Mirdif plays host to the #ActiveSummer run, promoted by Dubai Sports Council and RX Coffee, and organised by Peloton Events. Participants aged 13 and above can choose from 3 km or 5 km races, while younger runners aged between 4 and 15 can take on an 850 m sprint. With medals, certificates, and refreshments for all, winners can also look forward to cash prizes, gift vouchers, and bonus SHARE points. Registration is now open, with fees starting at Dh47.25.
Just a week later, on 13 July, Ibn Battuta Mall invites runners to take part in a morning filled with movement and excitement. Participants can opt for 2.5 km, 5 km or 10 km distances. All runners receive a branded t-shirt and finishers medal, with podium recognition and prizes for the top three in each age group. Early bird registration starts at Dh85.
August energy boost
The action doesn't slow down as the season progresses. Mall of the Emirates joins the race on 3 August, followed by Wafi Mall on 10 August. Both events are managed by Peloton Events in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council. Featuring cool, fully air-conditioned venues, these indoor races provide the perfect way to beat the heat while staying active.
Finale at Festival City
The final indoor run wraps up the series at Dubai Festival City Mall on 31 August. Participants can expect a vibrant atmosphere filled with music, cheering crowds, and surprise giveaways. Each event is carefully curated to offer an energetic environment for solo runners, friend groups, and entire families looking to create unforgettable summer memories.

This year’s DSS offers thousands of daily activities across the city, including retail promotions, entertainment experiences, and only-in-Dubai moments. The indoor mall runs add a fitness-driven layer to the excitement, reinforcing DSS 2025 as one of the region’s most dynamic summer celebrations.
